Angelfan's Buffy the Vampire Slayer Page (1996 - 2001)
Angelfan's Buffy the Vampire Page was the first site I ever built. The layout you see here is actually Version 2.1. The first couple of layouts are lost because I never thought to save them. It's probably a good thing too, because thinking about them I am entirely embarrassed to admit I was ever the author.
Several different sites provided inspiration for the creation of this site, mostly in terms of content. I desired to be the ultimate source for Buffy related material. A task I didn't understand the magnitude of at the time. This goal was mainly due to a site that I had found earlier that year. It wasn't a Buffy site, but it was my greatest influence. Tom's Xena Page is the most complete and well produced fan site I have come across. I modeled my own site after his and thus this final layout.
This layout was coded entirely by hand and uses only HTML and table tayout. For a site with so much information, it is realtively well organized and easy to navigate. Looking back on this site, I've learned many things. The importance of simplicity and the necessity of CSS, library items, and other tools to facilitate site maintence and redesign (when necessary).
